About

I am a native of the beautiful South East Asian Island of Sri Lanka earlier known as Ceylon. I am known as “Artro2” to the art world. Through my artistic expressions I have found peace with my wondering soul. I am trying to bring about world peace and understanding of the human spirit.

I am a graduate from the Dimbulagala Arts Academy. There I learned the basics under the strict supervision of Master Dimbulagala in Sri Lanka. Maestro Reginald Pollack of Palm Springs, CA was my mentor and guru. I apprenticed under him and furthered my artistic talents. As a child, my parents, Indrani and Kingsley Perera, were both instrumental and supportive in the pursuit of my art and for my freedom of self expression. I migrated to the United States, and live in Redondo Beach, California. I furthered my education by graduating from the El Camino College in Gallery Management conducted by Professor Michael Lewis Miller.

I use my negative energy by channeling it onto my works to create positive images. I try to show the depth by using vibrant and bold colors. More of the object and passive undertones are achieved by using pallet knives, paint sticks, brushes and my own fingers as tools.
